Srivastava earns SCIAC weekly award

ORANGE, Calif. - Sophomore Sophie Srivastava helped lead the Chapman volleyball team to a perfect 4-0 weekend at the Cal Lu Fornia Invitational, earning the SCIAC Offensive Player of the Week.

The setter/right side hitter recorded her first two triple-doubles of the season in victories over UC Santa Cruz and Texas Lutheran on Saturday afternoon. In the morning match against the Banana Slugs, she tallied 17 kills, 29 assists and 15 digs for her first triple-double of the season. Srivastava then put up 11 kills, 28 assists and 14 digs in the Panthers' sweep of Texas Lutheran.

Srivastava was dominant over the weekend with 3.5 kills per set, 7.69 assists per set and 3.54 digs per set. The Belmont native hit .412 on the weekend and served six aces on the way to a tournament sweep. She helped the Panthers move to 6-2 on the season.

The Panthers take the week off before hosting Pacific Lutheran at Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 1 p.m.
