Trailing 7-6 in the third quarter, Redlands out-scored Chapman 6-2 over the final 12:46 of the game and claimed 7th place in the WWPA championships with a 12-9 victory. Senior Ryan Floersch scored his third goal of the game with 4:46 left in the third quarter to tie the game at 7. His twin brother John Floersch then scored the Bulldogs' go-ahead goal 44 seconds later and Redlands held the lead for the remainder of the game.

Redlands' goalie Teddy Trowbridge made six of his 13 saves in the second half to preserve the Redlands lead.

For Chapman, sophomore Pierre Masson scored a pair of goals in the third quarter, the first of which gave the Panthers a 7-6 lead to open the half. Senior utility Alex Mule led Chapman with five goals.

The Aggies' Matt Richardson scored back-to-back goals in the third quarter to give U.C. Davis the lead en route to a 10-8 upset victory over No. 2 seed Air Force in the WWPA championships fifth place game. Richardson's goals were part of a 6-0 scoring run that took the Aggies from a 6-4 deficit to a 10-6 lead.

Richardson finished with three goals in the game. U.C. Davis' Cory Lyle and Carlos Martinez also had three goals each.

For Air Force, Bobby Geiger and Alex Churnside each scored a pair of goals in the first quarter as the Falcons jumped out to a 4-2 lead, but could not hang on.

No. 4 seed Santa Clara produced plenty of offense on its way defeating Whittier 17-9 in the third place game of the WWPA championships. The Broncos scored five times in both the first and third quarters and jumped out to an 8-1 lead by the end of the first half.

Ten different Broncos scored at least one goal in the game, led by Liam Farrell who finished with four goals. Nicholas Poggetti scored two of his three goals in the first quarter as Santa Clara scored the game's first eight goals.

Lincoln Haley put Whittier on the board with 43 seconds left in the half with a goal. The Poets' second-half eight-goal outburst, including goals in the fourth quarter was too little too late. Whittier goalie Casey Regehr finished with nine saves.

Loyola Marymount's Max Schlegel broke a 4-4 tie, scoring a goal with 4:01 left in the fourth quarter and the Lions held on to win their third consecutive WWPA championship with a 5-4 victory over U.C. San Diego. WWPA Player of the Year and championships MVP Andy Stevens was brilliant in goal, making 14 saves, including all four of the Tritons' shots on goal in the fourth.

Schlegel's goal gave LMU its first lead of the game, although it was never far behind. U.C. San Diego jumped on top with a 1-0 lead after one quarter thanks to a goal by Peter Gresham.

The top-seeded Lions rallied in the second quarter to even the score heading into halftime. All-Tournament selection Andrew Aki knotted the game at 2 with 3:14 to play in the half. UCSD again took leads of 3-2 and 4-3 in the third quarter on back-to-back goals from Sean Cruz. LMU's Tibor Forai tied the game at 4 with 26 seconds to play in the third.

Tritons' goalie David Morton was tough, as well, making four of his nine saves in the fourth quarter to keep the game close.

LMU, ranked No. 5 in the nation, earns the WWPA's automatic berth to the NCAA national championships hosted by Princeton University on Dec. 5-6.
