Marino named ITA West Region Coach of the Year
Chapman University womens tennis head coach Will Marino has been selected as the West Region Coach of the Year by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association for NCAA Division III womens tennis. The award comes on the heels of the Panthers reaching the West Region championship match for the first time in school history.

Top seeds fall in women's tennis; Panthers eliminated
If No. 1 seed Liz Lewis is looking for any consolation following an upset defeat in the second round of this weekends NCAA Division III womens tennis singles championships, she might find some knowing shes not alone. The Chapman University junior was one of four of the top six seeds that didnt survive past the second round of the tournament on Friday at the Battleground Tennis Complex.

Lewis earns top seed as Panthers begin championship quests
Chapman University junior Liz Lewis is hoping the third times a charm as she begins her third bid for an NCAA national singles championship on Friday. And the oddsmakers have made the three-time All-American the favorite to win as the NCAA Division III womens tennis championships committee announced the singles and doubles draws for the national championship tournaments which begin on Friday at the Battleground Tennis Complex.

Lewis adds an academic honor to her resume
Next week, Chapman University junior Liz Lewis will officially be honored as a three-time All-American when she competes at the NCAA Division III womens tennis national championships in singles and doubles in Fredericksburg, Virginia. However, this week Lewis added ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District honors to her portfolio.

The Chapman University women's tennis team could not overcome losing two of the three doubles matches to No. 7-ranked Pomona-Pitzer Colleges and lost 5-1 in the West Region championship match in Claremont on Saturday afternoon.

Women's tennis advances to regional finals for first time
For the first time in school history, the Chapman University womens tennis team has earned a berth in the NCAA Division III West Region championship match. The No. 12-ranked Panthers advanced on the strength of a 5-1 victory over No. 23 University of Redlands in the second round of the tournament at Pomona-Pitzer Colleges on Friday.

Chapman University womens tennis players Liz Lewis and Kelley Fox are headed back to the NCAA Division III national championships. The Panthers 1-2 punch were both selected to the singles championships and the duo will also compete for the second year in a row in the doubles bracket.

For the fourth year in a row, the Chapman University womens tennis team has been selected to the NCAA Division III Womens Tennis Championships. The Panthers, ranked No. 12 in Division III, have earned a first-round bye in the regional bracket which will be hosted by Pomona-Pitzer Colleges in Claremont, Calif.

Lewis' winning streak snapped with loss in quarters
Chapman University junior Liz Lewis had her 24-match winning streak snapped as the two-time All-American fell in the quarterfinals at the 110th Ojai Valley Tournament on Saturday in the womens independent singles bracket. No. 5 seed Lewis lost in straight sets to Sara Celma from Fresno Pacific University, 6-2, 6-3.

Chapman takes down Redlands in battle of top-ranked teams
The No. 12-ranked Chapman University womens tennis team defeated visiting University of Redlands ranked No. 20 in Division III with a 6-3 decision at the Chapman Tennis Courts on Friday afternoon. The Panthers and Bulldogs entered the match ranked Nos. 2 and 3 in the West Region, as well.

Chapman women bounce back against West Region foes
Following back-to-back losses for the first time this season, the Chapman University womens tennis team rebounded with a pair of important home wins against West Region rivals on Tuesday and Wednesday. The Panthers defeated Whitworth University 6-3 on Tuesday and handed Linfield College (Ore.) an 8-1 defeat on Wednesday, both at the Chapman Tennis Courts.

Upset-minded Chapman takes down No. 11 Carnegie Mellon
The Chapman University womens tennis team had upset on its mind when it returned to the court on Monday to finish its match against No. 11-ranked Carnegie Mellon University. And the Panthers did just that, beating the visiting Tartans 5-4 at the Chapman Tennis Courts in a rain-suspended match that began on Saturday.

Panthers sweep Cal Lu in home opener
In its home opener, the No. 23-ranked Chapman University womens tennis team swept through its singles and doubles matches in a 9-0 shutout of Cal Lutheran University on Thursday afternoon at the Chapman Tennis Courts to earn its first team victory this season.

Lewis captures Small Colleges singles championship
Chapman University junior tennis player Liz Lewis won the ITA National Small College Championships singles title on Saturday, defeating No. 2 seed Kendra Higgins from the University of Chicago in straight sets 7-6 (5), 6-4 at the Copeland-Cox Tennis Center in Mobile, Ala. Its the first championship for a Chapman tennis player at this event and the second singles tournament title for Lewis this month.

All-American Lewis knocks off top seed in Alabama
Chapman University junior tennis player Liz Lewis upset top-seeded Lorne McManigle from Emory University (Ga.) 6-1, 3-6, 7-5 at the ITA National Small Colleges Championships in Mobile, Ala. on Thursday in the first round at Copeland-Cox Tennis Center. McManigle is currently ranked No. 1 in Division III.

Lewis claims second straight Fall West Regional crown
Last fall, Chapman University tennis player Liz Lewis lived up to her No. 1 seeding and swept through the Division III West Regional tournament with a victory. This year, the two-time All-American entered the tournament as the No. 2 seed, but the results were the same. Lewis defeated top-seeded Siobhan Finicane from Pomona-Pitzer in three sets to win back-to-back titles at the Wilson ITA Division III Fall West Regionals at Claremont last weekend.
