The Chapman University softball team dropped a pair of games to cross-county rival Vanguard University on Thursday afternoon. The visiting Lions used an eight-run seventh inning to turn an otherwise close game into a 12-2 win in the first game, then rallied from a 3-1 deficit to beat the Panthers 4-3 in Game 2. [more]

Break-even March comes to an end at Sun West
In what has become characteristic of the Chapman University softball team in 2010, the Panthers split their Sun West Tournament-ending doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon at Hart Park, defeating St. Olaf College (Minn.) 13-3 and losing to the University of St. Thomas (Minn.) 3-2 in eight innings.
