Three-run seventh, walk-off earns Panthers another split

The Chapman University softball team tied the game in the bottom of the seventh on a suicide squeeze bunt and then won it with a walk-off RBI single from freshman IF Kyla Javier as the Panthers came from behind to win 6-5 in Game 2 and earn a doubleheader split with visiting Concordia University on Thursday night at El Camino Park. It will be the youngest cast of inductees in school history as all three honorees graduated from Chapman in the 1990s. Behind a no-hit, 12-strikeout performance from its pitching staff, the Chapman University softball team defeated visiting La Sierra University 8-0 on Sunday afternoon at Hart Park in the final regular season game for both teams. Visiting Vanguard University came into Hart Park and handed the Chapman University softball team its most lopsided defeat of the season in a doubleheader sweep of the Panthers on Thursday afternoon.
