Mulé leads nation in scoring, Gasper top-10 in saves

ORANGE, Calif. - Despite the Chapman University men's water polo team having played just 11 games, senior utility Alex Mulé leads the nation in goals scored (42) and goals per game (3.82) according to the latest national water polo statistics released on Wednesday. The rankings compiled include all levels of NCAA (Division I, II, III) and NAIA.
Mulé has scored 42 goals in 11 games while the nation's second-ranked goal scorer, John-Claude Wright of George Washington University has scored 39 goals but played in six more games than Chapman. As a freshman and sophomore, Mulé also led the nation in goals scored with a 101 and 104 goals scored, respectively. The 104 goals scored in 2007 is a Chapman single-season record.
Senior G Collin Gasper currently ranks 10th in the nation in saves with 102, an average of 10.2 per game. Gasper is Chapman's all-time career leader in blocks with 858.
Chapman's second leading goal-scorer, junior utility Steve Neville also cracked the national leaders for goals scored with 19, an average of 1.73 goals per game. Neville is also second on the team in assists with 15.
