  • Love becomes all-time home run leader in school history
    April 21, 2018
    A doubleheader split with La Verne (26-11, 16-5 SCIAC) was highlighted by senior Jared Love’s solo home run in the bottom of the second inning in the Panthers’ (27-10, 12-9 SCIAC) game one victory. With 22 career home runs, Love becomes Chapman baseball’s all-time leader in career home runs.
  • Blodgett honored as SCIAC Athlete of the Week

    The Panthers kept on rolling this weekend with a sweep of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. Senior Gavin Blodgett led the charge at the plate and was selected as the SCIAC Athlete of the Week.
  • Mogollon pitches complete-game shutout against CMS

    The Chapman University baseball team hit its way to its fourth consecutive SCIAC win with an 8-0 victory over Claremont Mudd Scripps (15-17, 6-10 SCIAC) earlier this afternoon. Junior pitcher Matt Mogollon pitched his second complete-game shutout of the 2018 season while senior Gavin Blodgett hit a couple of two-RBI doubles to help lift the Panthers (24-8, 9-7 SCIAC) to victory.

    The Chapman University baseball team earned its ninth victory in a row with a 9-4 win over Cal Lutheran (15-11, 5-8 SCIAC) earlier this afternoon. The Panthers (19-7, 4-6 SCIAC) were led by juniors Tristan Kevitch and Andrew Mendonca, who each went yard to lift Chapman to victory over the defending national champions.
  • Baseball blanks Bruins for eighth straight win

    The winning streak continued and another streak began to form as the Chapman University baseball team defeated visiting George Fox 10-0 for its eighth win in a row. It was also the second consecutive shutout for the Panthers’ pitching staff, led by junior Christian Cosby on the mound today.
  • Peck, Ogranovich selected as SCIAC Athletes of the Week

    A couple of Panthers were selected as the SCIAC Athletes of the Week this afternoon. Junior pitcher Tyler Peck and freshman women’s tennis player Alisa Ogranovich earned the awards after helping lead their teams to victories this week.
  • Peck strikes out 12, Blodgett hits three-run homer in doubleheader victories

    The Chapman University baseball team earned a pair of wins this afternoon with wins over Middlebury College (1-6) and Williams College (1-4). Junior Tyler Peck pitched six innings and struck out a career-high 12 batters in the 9-0 shutout effort, while senior Gavin Blodgett hit a three-run homer to help the Panthers (17-7) earn the 5-3 victory in game one.
  • Baseball overpowers Linfield for 7-3 win
    March 23, 2018
    A dominant pitching performance and some early offense led the Chapman University baseball team to a 7-3 win over visiting Linfield on Friday. Junior Matt Mogollon and Austin Merrill combined to strike out 14 Wildcats in the win.
  • Kevitch homers twice in baseball’s victory over Principia

    The Chapman University baseball team run-ruled the visiting Principia College (8-3) in the bottom of the eighth with a 12-2 victory. Junior Tristan Kevitch hit two bombs for the Panthers (14-7), including an inside-the-park home run in the bottom of the fifth.
  • Baseball sweeps doubleheader from Dickinson
    March 15, 2018
    Senior Gavin Blodgett and junior Alex Tsuruda each drove in five runs as the Chapman University baseball team put up two dominant wins over visiting Dickinson, 6-2 and 12-1. The Panthers’ pitching staff remained stingy on the mound, holding the opposing lineups to two runs or less for the fourth and fifth games in a row.

    The Chapman University baseball team routed the visiting Ithaca 11-2 earlier this afternoon. The Panthers (11-7, 3-6 SCIAC) tallied 14 total hits and eight different players had at least one hit in the victory over the Bombers (4-5).
  • Peck, Collins no-hit Whitter but Panthers fall in series finale

    Juniors Tyler Peck and Mason Collins were dominant in nine no-hit innings on the mound, but the Chapman University baseball team fell 2-0 to Whittier. Peck and Collins made Panther history as they combined for Chapman’s first no-hitter since 1973.
  • Cosby goes six, Love with 2 RBIs in victory over Vassar

    The Chapman University baseball team edged out Vassar College 3-2 this evening to notch its 10th win of the season. Junior pitcher Christian Cosby led the Panthers (10-6) on the mound, striking out three batters while allowing four hits in six innings pitched. Senior Jared Love has found his groove since returning from injury, recording two RBIs on 1-for-3 hitting in the victory over Vassar (0-1).

    An early offensive outburst helped the Chapman University baseball team hang on for a 9-7 win over Whittier on Saturday. The win evened the SCIAC series but was supposed to be the first game of a doubleheader.
  • Baseball loses heartbreaker in final inning

    The Chapman University baseball team lost to the visiting Concordia of Wisconsin 2-1 after leading through eight innings this afternoon. Junior pitcher Tyler Peck was solid on the mound for the Panthers (8-5, 2-4 SCIAC), only allowing three hits and striking out 10 batters in five innings pitched against the Falcons (1-2, 0-0 NACC).
  • Baseball game called due to rain

    After just under three innings of play, Chapman University baseball’s game earlier tonight against Concordia of Wisconsin was called due to rain. The Panthers had just scored their second run to tie the game up at 2-2 with two outs left in the bottom of the third.
  • Baseball takes doubleheader behind heavy hitting

    The Chapman University baseball team notched two victories in a doubleheader against the visiting Concordia of Wisconsin. The Panthers (8-4, 2-4 SCIAC) routed the Falcons (0-2, 0-0 NACC) 9-2 in game one and 13-5 in game two. Chapman tallied 26 total hits in their two victories today.
  • Mogollon pitches lights-out complete game in victory over Pomona-Pitzer

    The Chapman University baseball team beat the visiting Pomona-Pitzer 8-0 this afternoon behind an outstanding effort from starting pitcher junior Matt Mogollon. The Panthers (6-2, 2-2 SCIAC) scored eight runs to hand the Sagehens (5-3, 0-1 SCIAC) their first loss in the SCIAC.
  • Baseball rolls past Castleton in 10-2 victory

    The Chapman University baseball team rolled past the visiting Castleton 10-2 this evening at Hart Park. Senior Conner Larkin hit a grand slam in the bottom of the sixth to lead the Panthers to victory.
  • Baseball splits doubleheader with Redlands on opening weekend

    The Chapman University baseball team split a doubleheader with Redlands (5-2, 2-1 SCIAC) in its SCIAC home opener this afternoon, taking the first game 5-4 and falling 4-3 in the second. The Panthers (4-2, 1-2 SCIAC) rallied from down two in the bottom of the ninth to earn the walk off victory in the first game.
  • Baseball looks to returners heading into opening weekend

    The Chapman University baseball team enters the 2018 season after making a run in the SCIAC tournament last year. The Panthers have all the pieces in place for a successful season as they return seven of nine players in the lineup and all three starting pitchers. Chapman also welcomes back four All-SCIAC selections from last year, including First Teamer and senior captain Jared Love.
