Athlete of the Week: Kelley Klebenow - Women's Tennis
Klebenow led Chapman to a fifth-place finish at the SCIAC Championships with a 2-0 record in singles and 3-0 mark in doubles on the weekend. In singles, the senior won on the No. 5 court 6-1, 6-1 against Cal Lutheran on Friday.

Athlete of the Week: Allie Kontny - Women's Lacrosse
The senior playmaker concluded a fabulous four-year career with the Panthers with three goals and an assist during Chapman's run to the SCIAC Championships semifinals last week. The Centennial, Colo. native scored twice in the second half to help the Panthers build a sizeable second-half lead and beat Claremont 13-9 in her final game at Wilson Field on Wednesday night.

Athlete of the Week: Travis McGee - Baseball
Senior RHP Travis McGee threw a complete game shutout against Whittier College on Saturday, helping Chapman move into a first-place tie in the SCIAC standings. In seven innings, McGee surrendered a mere three hits and four walks, while striking out eight batters as the Panthers 'run-ruled' the Poets 10-0.

Athlete of the Week: Sophia Duong - Women's Tennis
Junior women's tennis player Sophia Duong has been red hot on the hardcourt earning two more wins over the weekend against Cal Lutheran and La Verne. Duong has earned a team-leading 18-3 overall record this season, including a 7-1 mark in SCIAC competition.

Athlete of the Week: Brooke Martini - Women's Lacrosse
Chapman sophomore lacrosse midfielder Brooke Martini continued her standout season with a career best on Saturday. Martini scored a career-high six goals in the team's 10-6 win against Whitter College.

Athlete of the Week: Mark Saatzer - Baseball
The Panthers' senior first baseman went batted .500 (6-for-12) in a three-game series with Redlands over the weekend. Saatzer hit two home runs, scored two runs and added seven RBI in the series, including a combined 5-for-9 in the doubleheader at Redlands on Saturday, hitting his both homers and driving in six all in a day's work.

Athlete of the Week: Lisa Perez - Softball
The sophomore backstop put together quite a week offensively in leading the Panthers to a 6-2 record and helping them climb back into the SCIAC race with a nine-game winning streak and winners of 12 of 14 overall. Perez batted .500 for the week (11-for-22) with five extra-base hits, including a 4-for-4 performance vs. George Fox (Ore.) at the Tucson Invitational Games on Saturday.

Charlie Werman - Men's Tennis
Somebody finally figured out how to beat freshman men's tennis player Charlie Werman. The rookie lost his first singles match of the spring last week snapping a six-match winning streak that included a three-set win on the No. 4 court against 17th-nationally ranked Pomona-Pitzer.

Andrew Carbajal - Baseball
Senior OF Andrew Carbajal compiled 15 hits in 25 at-bats (.600 BA) on the week, extending his hitting streak to 18 games, dating back to last season. He totaled two doubles, eight runs scored, two RBI and three walks in the week's six games.

The sophomore put together an impressive week, collecting seven hits in 16 at-bats (.438 BA), including two triples, one home run, four runs scored and five RBI. Cook's seven hits on the week surpassed his freshman season total and outpaced the rest of the conference through the first week of games.

Kirsten Spicer & Jordan Gilmore - Women's Water Polo
The junior goaltending duo of Kirsten Spicer and Jordan Gilmore put together a dominating effort in the cage in the women's water polo team's season-opening tournament in Redlands on Sunday. The pair combined for 23 saves and just two goals allowed as the No. 7-ranked Panthers upset No. 3 Redlands 10-1 and then knocked off Division II opponent Cal State San Bernardino 11-1.

The junior guard scored 47 points over two conference games last week, including a career-best 31 points in an overtime loss to Occidental. Zavrsnick has maintained his hot-handed shooting all season, converting 15-of-28 shots on the week including 7-of-17 shooting from three-point range.

The junior guard returned from an injury to play a crucial role in both Panthers wins last week. After missing four straight games, she scored 10 points against Messiah on Dec. 30, draining a go-ahead bucket with 23 seconds left in the game. She followed up her clutch performance by leading the team in scoring with 17 points in a 55-48 win over Claremont.

The junior driver had one of his best matches of the season on Wednesday as the Panthers defeated No. 9 La Verne for their fourth straight victory. In the close battle with the Leopards, Apffel's five assists and three steals made the difference. to No. 5 Redlands.
Apffel currently ranks in the top five on the team in shots, goals, assists and steals.

The sophomore goalkeeper improved his record to 6-4-1 this week while leading the Chapman defense to a four-game winning streak. Berardi recorded an impressive streak of 356 consecutive scoreless minutes, which came to an end in the Panthers' 3-0 loss to Claremont-M-S on Saturday.

Michael Lahey - Football
The junior quarterback led the Panthers past the Whitworth Pirates in Chapman's home-opener on Saturday, tossing a career-high three touchdowns while adding a rushing touchdown. Lahey completed 15-of-18 passes to go along with 13 carries for 40 yards in Chapman's 38-17 win.
In his first two games, Lahey has completed 79.4 percent of his passes (27-of-34) for 328 yards and three touchdowns while racking up 66 yards on the ground with two rushing touchdowns.

The sophomore midfielder scored twice in Chapman's 3-0 win over UC Santa Cruz on Saturday, leading the Panthers to their first win of the 2013 season. The Scottsdale, Ariz native recorded the first multiple-goal effort of his collegiate career, netting two second half goals within six minutes of each other.

The All-America middle blocker was back at it in the Pacific Coast Classic as No. 19 Chapman earned four victories for a perfect 4-0 tournament record. The junior led Chapman with a .423 hitting percentage while averaging 3.9 kills per set.
